Our Programs: Daycare and Out-of-School Care in Edmonton
At Between Friends Daycare, we know the important of fostering a safe and fun learning environment. Kids learn best when they’re happy, playing, exploring and nutritionally satisfied. At our daycare and out-of-school care programs, Edmonton children can enjoy a diverse range of programs that will capture their imagination. This includes outdoor play, multicultural learning, literature, art, our “letter of the week” and more. In the summer, we offer special programs and field trips, and during the school year, we have morning and afternoon care for when they’re not in class. In order to keep kids stimulated, we change our program every week. All of our programs include:
Daycare Schedule (Baby Room and Family Room)
7:00 AM – 8:45 AM
-All families greeted
-Table top activities
-Diapers all checked and changed
-Make children feel welcome and comfortable
8:45 AM – 9:15 AM
-Clean up and wash hands to get ready for AM snack
-Have AM snack
9:15 AM – 9:30 AM
-Circle/Weather Frog/sing songs
-Letter and number
9:30 AM – 10:00 AM
-Craft/free center play
10:00 AM – 10:50 AM
-Outside play/go for a walk or to the play park (if weather permitting)
-Gross motor activities if weather is not permitting
10:50 AM – 11:00 AM
-Bathroom time/clean up and get ready for lunch
11:00 AM – 11:30 AM
-Eat lunch
11:30 AM – 12:00 PM
-Wash hands and brush teeth/change diapers/potty and clean up
12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
-Naptime
2:00 PM – 2:30 PM
-Wake up/quiet tabletop toys and bathroom time/diapers/put beds away
2:30 PM – 2:50 PM
-Outside play in the back yard/all centres open/
2:50 PM – 3:00 PM
-Clean up and wash up for snack
3:00 PM – 3:30 PM
-Have snack/wash hands/clean up
3:30 PM – 4:30 PM
-Circle for story time/free play and activities/all centres open/craft/bathroom
4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
-Tabletop activities
Out-of-School Care Schedule
7:00 AM – 8:15 AM
-All families greeted
-Tabletop activities/reading/crafts
-Make children feel welcome and comfortable
8:15 AM – 8:30 AM
-Get ready to go to school and get on the bus
3:15 PM – 3:45 PM
-Greet children off bus/put jackets and school bags away/circle to talk about their
day and/or programming ideas
3:45 PM – 4:15 PM
-Wash up for snack/have snack/clean
4:15 PM – 5:15 PM
-Outside play if weather permitting/free play/activities/all centres open/crafts
5:15 PM – 5:30 PM
